# sk98325 - Endpoint Policy Server does not synchronize with Security Management Server, which was migrated from Windows OS to Gaia OS

## Symptoms

- * Endpoint Policy Server does not synchronize with Security Management Server, which was migrated from Windows OS to Gaia OS. .  

* SmartEndpoint - '`Reporting`' tab - Activity Reports - shows the Endpoint Policy Server as not active.  

* `$UEPMDIR/logs/server_messages.log` file from Endpoint Policy Server shows:

  * INFO - Starting synchronization with EPS server. ... INFO - Retrieved file: sic://*IP_ADDRESS* :18193/cp/file/... ... WARN - Error deleting file: ... WARN - Error performing sync with EPS: Error deleting file: ...   

  * `ERROR - A server exception occurred while handling an endpoint request. Request size: 0, scheme: http, port: 80, uri: /cp/connectionPoint/syncreq, ip: /`*IP_ADDRESS* `:`*PORT*`
    com.checkpoint.uepm.connectionpoint.ConnectionPointException: TICKET_NUMBER = `*NUMBER*`. The Connection Point hasn't finished initial synchronization with EPS yet. No endpoint requests will be handled until the Connection Point is synchronized with the EPS.
    `

## Cause

Permissions of the drivers were not inherited on Security Management Server during migration.
