## Symptoms

- *smartlog_server* process crashes after settings change in SmartLog configuration file:

Pre-R76:
*$SMARTLOGDIR/conf/smartlog_settings.txt*
R76 and above:
*$SMARTLOGDIR/smartlog_settings.txt*

## Cause

Wrong parameter definition in SmartLog configuration file.

Configuration parameters require a space between the parameter name and the value in parentheses "()".

Example of wrong configuration: *min_disk_space(10240)*

## Solution

Verify that all parameters in the SmartLog configuration file are defined correctly, with a space between the parameter name and the value in parentheses "()".

After correcting the SmartLog configuration file, restart the SmartLog services:

*\[Expert@HostName\]# smartlogstop ; smartlogstart*
