# sk93804 - Unable to access Mobile Access Portal

## Symptoms

- * Unable to access Mobile Access Portal.  

* cvpnrestart shows the following output:  

  Failure: portal is not running  
  Multiportal daemon is not running  
  Mobile Access: Restoring CPAS selective ACK feature to its previous state (setting to 1).  
  Mobile Access: Successfully stopped Mobile Access services  
  Mobile Access: Starting dbwriter service  
  Mobile Access: Starting cvpn service  
  Mobile Access: Starting cvpnproc Server  
  Mobile Access: Starting MoveFileServer Server  
  Mobile Access: Starting UserMonitor Server  
  Mobile Access: Pinger is already running  
  Mobile Access: Disabling CPAS selective ACK feature.  
  Mobile Access: Failed to start cvpnd daemon.Look under \<$CVPNDIR\>/log/cvpnd.elg for more info.  
  Mobile Access: Failed to start cvpn service.  

* Restart of the gateway does not solve the issue.  

* cvpnd.elg file is 2 GB (at system file size limit).  
  Note: cvpnd.elg may be found in $CVPNDIR/log  

* The process cvpnd keeps crashing.

## Cause

Logfile was not rotating and it reached maximum size allowed by the filesystem.

When the file could not be written to anymore, the owning process (cvpnd) crashed.
