# sk92835 - Large DNS packets (eDNS) are dropped by the gateway

## Symptoms

- * Large DNS packets are dropped by the gateway.
* zdebug drop captures shows - "fw_log_drop: Packet proto=17 x.x.x.x:41446 -\> y.y.y.y:53 dropped by fw_handle_first_packet Reason: Rulebase drop - rule 0;"

## Cause

Firewall blocks the UDP packets larger than 512 bytes, which is the default size limit to DNS packets.
