# sk92639 - SAM or Empty Drawer must always be installed in upper rear slot in 21000 Appliances

## Solution

To ensure proper airflow and cooling of the 21000 Appliance, there must always be either a Security Acceleration Module or an Empty Drawer installed in the upper rear slot.

If the customer needs to remove the Security Acceleration Module, and does not have a blank drawer, Check Point Customer Support should order the drawer, P/N CPAC-FP-SAM-21000.

Customers who install the Security Acceleration Module in their appliance should retain the empty drawer which they remove from the rear upper slot so that they can re-insert the empty drawer in the event they later need to remove the SAM.
