# sk88360 - 'Error: 'ClusterXL' is not responding. Verify that 'ClusterXL' is installed on the gateway' message in SmartView Monitor

## Symptoms

- * '`Error: 'ClusterXL' is not responding. Verify that 'ClusterXL' is installed on the gateway`' message in SmartView Monitor.  

* '`cphaprob state`' command reports '`HA module not started`' on the problematic machine.  

* '`cpconfig`' shows 'Disable cluster membership for this gateway' option, which means that cluster membership was already enabled in the past.

Cluster membership was not enabled completely on the problematic machine.
