# sk85680 - Unable to add existing gateway to cluster

## Symptoms

- * When attempting to add an existing gateway to a cluster, an error is shown stating that the gateway is used in places where Cluster members are not allowed:

  ```
  
  viewing properties of the selected object is not supported
  ```

* A "where used" indicates that the member is used in transferred_packages. The policy name is under the Type column of the where used output message.

## Cause

An upgrade package was attached to the gateway in SmartUpdate and never used.
