# sk82160 - How to display VLAN Tags in tcpdump on Gaia OS

## Symptoms

- Regular output of tcpdump on physical interface with VLANs ('`tcpdump -i `*physical_interface_name*') on Gaia OS does not display VLAN Tag as displayed on SecurePlatform OS or on IPSO OS.

## Cause

'tcpdump' utility on Gaia OS is more advanced (`tcpdump version 3.9.4 , libpcap version 0.9.4`) than 'tcpdump' utility on SecurePlatform OS (`tcpdump version 3.7.2 , libpcap version 0.7.2`) or on IPSO OS.

On Gaia OS, administrator should use the "-e" flag in 'tcpdump' syntax to display VLAN Tags.
