# sk65128 - VPN traffic dropped by "vpn_drop_and_log reason: different hash method"

## Symptoms

- * The VPN tunnel is established, but the traffic does not pass over the tunnel.
* Kernel debug ('`fw ctl debug -m fw + drop`') shows the drops like the following:  
  `;fw_log_drop: Packet proto= ... dropped by vpn_drop_and_log reason: different hash methods;`

## Cause

The Hash method used to encrypt the packet is not accepted by the remote peer of the VPN site to site.
