# sk63942 - Traffic routed through standby member does not pass through HA cluster

## Symptoms

- Traffic routed through the physical IP of the standby member of a cluster is seen in tcpdump but does not show in an fw monitor and does not pass through the cluster

## Cause

The clustering mechanism will drop any traffic that is being routed through a member that has a status of standby. This is by design
