## Solution

This article details in which scenarios the UserDirectory software blade (CPSB-UDIR) is required:

* For managing internal CA certificates in the SmartDashboard users tree, the CPSB-UDIR is required.
* For remote users authentication with LDAP/AD, the CPSB-UDIR license is required for the following Remote Access clients:  

  SecuRemote

  Check Point Mobile for Windows

  Endpoint Security VPN

  Check Point Mobile VPN for iOS/Android

  SSL Network Extender (SNX) via Firewall/VPN-1 Portal
* The CPSB-UDIR license is NOT required for LDAP/AD user authentication using the following Remote Access clients:  

  Mobile Access Portal

  SSL Network Extender (SNX) via Mobile Access Portal

  Check Point Mobile for iOS/Android
