## Symptoms

- * Remote Access clients cannot establish VPN connections.
* Error message on Client side: "Ike negotiation failed Make sure the user is properly defined on the firewall"
* In Smart View Tracker:  
  "IKE: Main Mode Sent Notification to Peer: Client Encrypt Notification: _MsgObj_internal_error_NULL_obj_"
* Debug output: "Sent Notification to Peer: Client Encrypt Notification: __MsgObj_internal_error:_NULL_obj__ "
* Debug output: "proposalListFromUserForCommunity: Call to sortMethods with hash methods failed"
* Debug output: MMProcess1: ERROR: Cannot build a proposal for client

## Cause

The problem is with the Security Gateway proposal for the client.

Client side support SHA256 only in E80.60 and higher. Therefore IKE negotiation fails.
