# sk52101 - 'number of entries in state on conn (8000) has reached maximum allowed' error appears repeatedly in /var/log/messages

## Symptoms

- '`number of entries in state on conn (8000) has reached maximum allowed`' error appears repeatedly in `/var/log/messages` files

## Cause

There is an issue with one of the IPS protections (the size of 'sd_conn_state_max_entries' parameter do not need to be increased).

The '`sd_conn_state_max_entries`' kernel parameter is used by IPS, and is common for all IPS signatures and IPS protections for all sessions in one connection.
