# sk44073 - Password caching with Endpoint Security VPN

## Symptoms

- * After rebooting or pressing disconnect and then connect, password caching does not work when using username and password as the authentication method.   

* However, when disconnecting and reconnecting the network cable, password caching does work and will reconnect when the cable is plugged in again.

## Cause

The password is stored in memory. For security reasons, after you press disconnect and connect, it will not store the password.

Reboot will clear the memory, so the password is not cached.
