# sk44048 - fwm is down for SmartCenter or Domain Management Server

## Symptoms

- * DMS FWM is down (or UP (N/A))
* cpwd_admin list shows fwm process terminated or restarting

## Cause

Running fwm in debug on the affected DMSor SmartCenter shows:

*sic_server_addrbind_internal: cannot establish socket on port 18190*

*Listen failed*

*Finish listening to port 0, auth-18190*

*fwm_cpmi_server: error: failed to start cpmi server*

*Finish listening to port 0, auth-18190*

*fwm_cmain: error: can't initialize cpmi server: address already in use*

The DMS FWM crashed and left some processes in use.
