## Solution

To start the clustering mechanism under debug:

1. Stop the clustering mechanism:

   **`[Expert@HostName]# cphastop`**

2. Start the clustering mechanism under debug:

   * R77.20 and above:

     **`[Expert@HostName]# cphastart -d`**
   * R77.10 and lower:

     **`[Expert@HostName]# cphastart -d 1>> /var/log/cpha_debug.txt 2>> /var/log/cpha_debug.txt`**

   <br />

   <br />

3. Provide the relevant log file to [Check Point Support](http://www.checkpoint.com/services/contact/index.html):

   * R77.20 and above:

     **`$FWDIR/log/cphastart.elg`**
   * R77.10 and lower:

     **`/var/log/cpha_debug.txt`**

Note: In some cases, the '`cphamcset`' daemon was not able to start properly. Those cases were resolved by disabling and re-enabling the cluster membership via the '`cpconfig`' menu.
