# sk39289 - SNX for Linux error displays: "/usr/bin/snx: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/bin/snx: undefined symbol."

## Symptoms

- Secure Network Extender for Linux error message displays: "/usr/bin/snx: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/bin/snx: undefined symbol".

## Solution

The system's operating system does not have the needed C++ libraries. On some Linux distributions such as Fedora and Mandrake 10.1, the compat-libstdc++ libraries are not included by default.. To correct this, please do the following:

1. Download the compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.118.i386.rpm for your distribution. One place this file may be downloaded from is <http://rpm.pbone.net>

2. Execute the command... rpm -i downloaded_filename.to install the rpm.

3. After the installation, run SNX from the command line. If SNX prints the syntax usage, the procedure succeeded.
