## Solution

### Caution:

* Performing the following procedure on a High Availability "Active" cluster member will result in a failover.
* Performing the following procedure on a Load Sharing cluster member environment may affect existing connections.
* Performing the following procedure in SmartConsole R8x will delete the cluster member object.

### Procedure for SmartConsole R8x:

1. Connect with R8x SmartConsole to R8x Security Management Server / Domain Management Server.

2. Go to: GATEWAYS \& SERVERS tab and open the ClusterXL object.

8. Log in to the Expert mode.

9. Run the ***cpconfig*** command.

10. Select the option ***Disable cluster membership for this gateway***.

11. Reset SIC on cluster member. Refer to [sk65764](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk65764).

12. Reboot this cluster member.

### Procedure for SmartDashboard R7x:
