## Symptoms

- After running the '`vsx_util reconfigure`' command on the Security Management Server to rebuild VSX Gateway / VSX Cluster member, policy installation fails with the following error message:

`Installation failed. Reason: Peer sent SIC name that is different than the one configured for it on Security Management Server`

`** Try to reset SIC at the peer and re-establish the trust **`.

## Cause

When using the **vsx_util reconfigure** command to restore the VSX configuration for a re-installed cluster member, the activation key that is used during the Secure Internal Communication (SIC) initialization process is destroyed on both the Management Virtual System (MVS) level and Virtual System (VS) levels.

## Solution

This issue is resolved by provisioning a new Secure Internal Communication (SIC) activation key for each of the Virtual Devices (Virtual Switch or Virtual Router) configured on this VSX Gateway / VSX Cluster member.

To provision a new SIC activation key for each of the Virtual Devices, perform these steps in SmartDashboard:

1. **For VSX NG AI and for VSX NGX versions:** Open the VSX Management Virtual System (MVS) for editing - just click on 'OK' - a new SIC activation key is provisioned for MVS.

2. **For all VSX versions:** Open each Virtual System / Virtual Router object for editing - just click 'OK' - a new SIC activation key is provisioned for Virtual System / Virtual Router.

3. Install the policy to the re-built VSX Gateway / VSX Cluster member.
