## Symptoms

- Local license disappears from the SmartUpdate License repository after detaching from the remote Security Gateway and/or Security Management server.

## Solution

This is an expected behavior for local license. Only central licenses remain in the repository after being detached.

To obtain the license which was detached/deleted from the repository:

1. Log into the Check Point User Center
2. Click the "Accounts" link
3. Select the account the product is within
4. Click the "Products" link
5. Check the box to the left of the product
6. Select "Get Last License" from the "Actions" pull-down menu
7. Click the "Get License File"
8. Save the file to a directory which can be accessed via SmartUpdate
9. Log into SmartUpdate to import license file
10. Select the "Licenses \& Contracts" tab
11. From the menu bar, select Licenses \& Contracts \> Add License\> From File
12. Browse to the directory where the file is located and click Open
13. The file will be added to the repository, and can now be attached to the associated object

Note: Local licenses will attach to an object automatically.
