## Symptoms

- Installing a Mobile Access / Connectra component, such as Endpoint Compliance Scanner, Secure Workspace, or SSL Network Extender on Windows OS and Internet Explorer fails on the endpoint machine.

## Cause

**The end user has no permissions to run ActiveX on the client machine.**

When attempting to use a Mobile Access / Connectra component, such as Endpoint Compliance Scanner, Secure Workspace, or SSL Network Extender for the first time in Windows OS and in Internet Explorer, the Mobile Access / Connectra gateway tries to install this component using an ActiveX control. This is the default behavior of Mobile Access / Connectra gateway with regards to installing these components.

However, when the end user does not have Power User privileges, Internet Explorer may prevent installing the ActiveX control on the endpoint machine and may display a yellow bar at the top of the browser page asking the end user to explicitly allow the installation. Alternatively, Mobile Access / Connectra gateway suggests to the user to follow a dedicated link to install the required component using Java.
