# sk33743 - Permanent VPN tunnels between Edge devices and VPN gateways flap (changing status from "up" to "down")

## Symptoms

- Permanent VPN tunnels between Edge devices and VPN gateways flap (changing status from "up" to "down").

## Cause

Established permanent tunnels, are kept in the kernel table 'tnlmon_life_sign', which is limited to 200 entries by default. The 201st entry will begin to overwrite existing entries, causing permanent VPN tunnels to appear down. although the tunnels are actually up.
