## Symptoms

- Any new connection initiated from the Security Gateway, fails.

## Cause

Number of causes:

* Outgoing connections initiated from the Security Gateway are not allowed by Implied Rules.

* Number of concurrent connections had reached the limit of the connections table size (existing connections are not affected by the fact that the table is full). This can be checked in the following way:
  1. SmartDashboard - double click on the Gateway / Cluster object - go to '`Capacity Optimization`' (in R7x versions, located inside the '`Other`') - note the value of the '`Maximum Concurrent Connections`'.
  2. Security Gateway - run the '`fw tab -t connections -s`' command and note the values in '`#VALS`' and '`#PEAK`' counters.
