# sk31832 - How to prevent a ClusterXL or VRRP Cluster hiding its own traffic behind its Virtual IP address

## Symptoms

- * By default, all traffic that was originated by the member itself is sent as hidden behind the Virtual IP of the cluster on that subnet.

* In some cases it is desired or even required that the member sends the traffic using its own Physical IP address in the Source field of the packet, and not the Virtual IP of the cluster.

* Standby cluster member drops traffic.
