# sk31530 - ISP Redundancy Link Interface cannot be created

## Symptoms

- * Unable to add an interface on the ISP Redundancy window of a Security Gateway / Cluster object.  

* Errors:   

  `
  `
  * ISP Redundancy configuration on clusters requires that the interfaces which lead to your ISPs, have the same names as the corresponding physical interfaces on the cluster's members   

  * At least one of the interfaces which leads to your ISPs is not defined in the Topology page.  
    Either edit the ISP Links in the ISP redundancy page, or edit the interfaces in the Topology page.

## Cause

One of possible causes - the names of the interfaces configured in SmartDashboard do not match the names of the interfaces on the corresponding Security Gateway / Cluster members as they were assigned by operating system.

## Solution

Follow these steps in SmartDashboard:

1. Go to 'Manage' menu - 'Network Objects'.  

2. In the 'Network Objects' window, select the relevant Security Gateway / Cluster object.  

3. Click on 'Edit...'.  

4. In the Security Gateway / Cluster object, go to 'Topology' pane.  

5. In the 'Topology' window, click on 'Edit...' button.  

6. Proceed with the following series of steps for each interface:   

   1. Select the physical interface - click on 'Edit...' button.  

   2. Go to 'General' tab.  

   3. In the 'Name:' field, modify the name of the physical interface to match the name that was assigned by operating system.  

   4. Click 'OK' in the 'Interfaces Properties' window.

7. Click 'OK' in the 'Edit Topology' window.  

8. In the object Properties window, go to 'ISP Redundancy' pane (under 'Topology' pane).  

9. In the 'ISP Redundancy' window, check the box 'Support ISP Redundancy'.   

   Click 'Yes' in the following dialog box:   

   A dialog box with the following message will be displayed:  

   *"Check Point SmartDashboard
   You have chosen to support ISP Redundancy. However, ISP
   Redundancy settings may override previously configured VPN
   Link Selection settings.
   Do you want to override these settings?"*   

10. Configure the ISP Redundancy.  

11. Click 'OK' to close object Properties window.  

12. Click 'Close' to close 'Network Objects' window.  

13. Install the Security Policy onto Security Gateway / Cluster object.
