## Symptoms

- * Error message when installing Security Policy on a VRRP cluster.
* Error: "policy installation add-on cannot be found in the peer CPD add-on list"

## Cause

Check Point's policy installation works by registering specific components to the PTA mechanism. "Policy Transfer Agent" is a Check Point internal method of transferring the policy installed from the management to the enforcement module(s).

The Policy Transfer Agent mechanism consists of one or more dynamic libraries (dll) that are loaded by the CPD process on both the management and enforcement modules. Check Point's registry settings determine which exact libraries are loaded depending on product installation. FireWall-1 is one such component.

Each component is registered during VPN-1/FireWall-1 start, and unregistered upon shutdown. Due to corruption, the registration part was erased and no policy could be installed.
