# sk185249 - Config Point run_confp Process Repeatedly Exits on an MDPS-Enabled Security Gateway

## Symptoms

- * On an MDPS-enabled Security Gateway:
* The `run_confp` process repeatedly exits shortly after it starts.
* The restart counter for `/config_point/scripts/run_confp` continues to increase.
* `/var/log/messages` contains repeated messages similar to:  
  `Restarted /config_point/scripts/run_confp`  
  `init LD_LIBRARY_PATH for /config_point/scripts/run_confp`  
  `Reaped: run_confp`  
  `Scheduled run_confp for +900 secs`

## Cause

The MDPS configuration does not contain the required task entry:

`add mdps task process run_confp`

When this entry is missing, MDPS does not manage the `run_confp` process. The process exits after startup, and the process manager repeatedly reaps and reschedules it every 900 seconds.
