## Symptoms

- The Linux system meets one or more of the following conditions:

* The `/tmp` directory does not provide sufficient storage space for temporary files created by Endpoint Security for Linux.
* The `/tmp` directory is mounted with the `noexec` option, the Linux kernel version is earlier than 5.8, and Behavioral Guard, Threat Hunting, or Forensics is installed.

## Cause

Endpoint Security for Linux uses the temporary directory for installation, upgrade, and runtime operations.   

* The default `/tmp` directory does not provide sufficient storage space for temporary files, downloaded packages, configuration backups, or runtime working files.
* On Linux kernels earlier than version 5.8, Behavioral Guard, Threat Hunting, and Forensics require kernel module compilation. If `/tmp` is mounted with the `noexec `option, the default temporary directory cannot be used for kernel module compilation.
