# sk185220 - High CPU utilization on multiple cores caused by the CPVIEWD process

## Symptoms

- * Multiple CPVIEWD processes consume approximately 99.9% to 100% CPU.
* High CPU utilization does not correlate with overall traffic load.
* CPVIEWD is the primary consumer of CPU resources.
* The `cpwd_admin` output shows multiple CPVIEWD processes running in different Virtual Systems (VSs).

## Cause

In some Maestro VSX environments, CPVIEWD can consume excessive CPU resources due to the way it processes network interface information for multiple Virtual Systems. This behavior can cause multiple CPVIEWD processes to utilize nearly 100% CPU.
