# sk185205 - RX-ERR counters increase on interfaces using the Intel ice driver

## Symptoms

- * On SG9100 appliances using the Intel ice driver, the RX-ERR counter shown by the `netstat -i` command continuously increases.

* Running the `[Expert@hostname]# ethtool -S eth0` command on Expert mode shows for example:

  ```
  
    rx_csum_bad.nic: 2878
    rx_crc_errors.nic: 0
    rx_dropped.nic: 0
    rx_fragments.nic: 0
    rx_oversize.nic: 0
    rx_jabber.nic: 0
    mac_local_faults.nic: 0
    mac_remote_faults.nic: 0
  ```

* No CRC errors, input errors, port drops, or packet loss are observed.

* Traffic forwarding is not affected.

## Cause

This is a known issue in the Intel ice driver.  
The increasing RX-ERR counter is cosmetic in this scenario and does not indicate a forwarding problem or performance degradation.

## Solution

To resolve this issue:

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.  
For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:

2. [CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member / Security Group involved in the case.
