# sk185170 - VPN tunnel traffic fails after failover

## Symptoms

- * After failover or failback, VPN tunnel traffic fails.
* The output of the `fw ctl zdebug drop` command on the Security Gateway shows:   
  `vpn_decrypt_methods_ok failed`

## Cause

After failover or failback, some VPN connections can remain synchronized with incomplete VPN tunnel information. As a result, VPN traffic can fail until the VPN connection is reestablished.
