| Products | Security Gateway |
| Versions | R82 |

## Symptoms

- * SIP registrations fail intermittently.
* SIP services can become unavailable after the issue occurs.
* A reboot or failover temporarily restores normal operation.
* Packet captures show that the SIP INVITE packet arrives on the client-side interface, but the Security Gateway does not forward the packet to the server-side interface.

## Cause

Due to a software issue related to loop prevention handling, the Security Gateway may intermittently stop forwarding certain SIP registration packets. This can cause SIP calls to stop registering until the gateway is rebooted or traffic is redirected through another gateway.
