## Solution

### Overview

This guide is intended for customers who used **Shared Plans** before opting in to the new **MSP account model**. If you did not previously use Shared Plans, no action is required.

When you opt in to the new MSP account model, your former MSSP account becomes a customer account. If you were using Shared Plans, each Shared Plan is converted to a **Local Plan** in every customer account it was assigned to. The original Shared Plan remains as a Local Plan in the customer account that was converted from your former MSSP account.

To continue centrally managing Plans across multiple customer accounts, we recommend that you recreate your Shared Plans from the MSP account using these instructions.

**Note** - This procedure does not modify any Gateway configurations. When a Shared Plan is assigned to a customer account that already contains a Local Plan with the same name, the Shared Plan replaces the Local Plan.

### Step 1: Before you begin

* Sign in to your MSP account.

* Identify the Local Plan you want to convert back into a Shared Plan.

### Step 2: Recreate a Shared Plan

1. In your MSP account, navigate to **Plans**.

2. Create a new Plan.

3. Enter the same Plan name as the original Shared Plan.

4. Enable **Copy settings from existing Plan**.

5. Select the corresponding local Plan from one of the customer accounts.

6. Click **Next** until you reach the final step.

7. Click **Finish**.

The new Shared Plan opens automatically.
8. In the Shared Plan, click **Manage** (in the upper right-hand corner).

9. Click **+** (in the upper left-hand corner)

10. Select the customer accounts that use this Shared Plan. You can see the outcome in the modal.

11. Click **Assign**.

The selected customer accounts now use the Shared Plan for centralized policy management.

**Important**

When you assign a Shared Plan to a customer account that already contains a local Plan with the same name, the Shared Plan replaces the Local Plan. This is expected behavior.

### Step 3: Verify the result

Open the Gateways page and verify that:

* The expected Gateways are associated with the correct customer accounts and Plans.

* The restored Shared Plan appears in blue with the Share icon.
