# sk185118 - SGM Console Output Is Not Displayed After Joining a Security Group

## Symptoms

- * You can establish an SSH connection to the affected Security Group Member (SGM) from the Maestro Orchestrator or another SGM.
* No output appears on the SGM serial console after the SGM joins the Security Group.
* Removing the SGM from the Security Group restores console output.

## Cause

During startup after the SGM joins the Security Group, the operating system can detect a virtual console before the physical serial console. As a result, Linux uses **tty4** instead of **ttyS0** for console output.
