# sk184984 - Policy installation fails during IPv6 compilation due to DEF file formatting on the Management Server

## Symptoms

- Policy installation repeatedly fails with errors such as:   

* "*cpp: line X, Error: Inside #ifdef block at end of input, depth = 1*"
* "*Error compiling IPv6 flavor*"
* "*Operation ended with errors*"

## Cause

One or more DEF files in the `$FWDIR/lib` directory on the Security Management Server contain formatting inconsistencies, such as non-Unix line endings or invalid preprocessor content. These formatting issues can prevent the policy compiler from correctly processing conditional directives such as `#ifdef` during IPv6 policy compilation. As a result, the compiler can report an unterminated conditional block and fail the policy installation.
