| Solution ID | sk184941 |
| Date Created | 2026-07-16 |

| Technical Level | Advanced |
| Products | Security Gateway |
| Versions | R82.10, R82, R81.20 |

## Symptoms

- * The user successfully completes the first authentication factor, such as username and password.
* The Security Gateway requests a DynamicID one-time password (OTP), also referred to as a verification code.
* The user enters an incorrect OTP.
* The number of incorrect OTP entries does not reach the configured maximum.
* The Security Gateway does not generate a Failed Log In log.

## Cause

The Security Gateway creates the login log when the authentication process completes successfully or reaches its configured maximum number of authentication attempts.
Before the process reaches that limit, an incorrect DynamicID OTP does not complete the authentication process. Therefore, the Security Gateway does not create the Failed Log In log at that stage.
