# sk184918 - Power Supply LEDs Show Fault State on Check Point Firewall 3900 Appliances with a Single Power Supply

| Property | Value |
|----------|-------|
| Solution ID | sk184918 |
| Date Created | 2026-04-29 |
| Last Modified | 2026-08-05 |
| Technical Level | General |
| Products | Security Gateway |
| Versions | R82.10 |
| Platform | 3900 |

## Symptoms

- * Front panel power LEDs show red, orange, and green simultaneously, indicating a fault state.

* Hardware monitoring systems report a PSU warning or hardware fault.

* Network traffic continues to pass normally, and the appliance remains operational.

* Applying the procedure from [sk166000](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk166000) to disable dual?PSU checks does not clear the alert on this platform.

## Cause

On Check Point Firewall 3900 appliances running Gaia R82.10, the PSU health monitoring logic does not differentiate between an intentionally uninstalled redundant PSU and an actual PSU failure.
As a result, when only one PSU is present:

* The system continuously reports the missing second PSU as a hardware fault.
* Front panel LEDs display a fault state.
* Monitoring interfaces report a PSU warning.

This behavior does not affect traffic handling or appliance stability.
