## Symptoms

- When you change the device name of a macOS Harmony Endpoint client, the new name might not appear in the Asset Management tab in Harmony Endpoint.

## Cause

This issue occurs when you rename a non?domain?joined macOS device after you install the Harmony Endpoint client. In this scenario, the Asset Management inventory does not update the stored device name.

## Solution

1. On the macOS device, make sure the device name is set to the desired value.
2. Uninstall the Harmony Endpoint client from the device.
3. Install the Harmony Endpoint client again on the same device.
4. Open the Harmony Endpoint Portal and check the Asset Management tab to confirm that the device name now appears correctly.
