## Symptoms

- * During an upgrade, the following message appears in the Gaia Portal (Web UI):

`Failed to deploy the upgrade tools on the new partition.`

* The upgrade process stops after the package extraction phase.

## Cause

The Check Point Upgrade Service Engine (CPUSE) cannot deploy the required Upgrade Tools package to the new partition because the CPUSE Deployment Agent (DAClient) on the Multi-Domain Management Server is not responsive or is not at a required/recommended build level for the upgrade operation. As a result, CPUSE stops after extraction.
