It continuously collects health, configuration, and status information from your Gateways and Management Servers, giving Check Point Support an accurate and up-to-date picture of your environment. CPDiag runs automatically in the background with minimal impact on your environment - no performance degradation, no stability risk. When issues occur, the diagnostic data that CPDiag collects enables faster root-cause analysis, reduces resolution time, and allows recommendations to be based on your specific environment. CPDiag is a pre-requisite for the Check Point PRO support service. The CPDiag package is installed automatically on all relevant Check Point devices when Automatic Update downloads are enabled (see [sk175504](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk175504), section 2-B). If Automatic Updates are disabled, you must first manually install the latest [AutoUpdater](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk165653) Take and then install the CPDiag package manually using the steps below (in the *Manual Installation* section). Dynamic Configuration {#Dynamic_Package} ---------------------------------------- This configuration file extends CPDiag's collection scope dynamically, so that relevant files and content can be added or updated independently of the main CPDiag release cycle. No software update is required. ### Instructions: 1. Download the Dynamic Configuration file (see the *Availability* section). 2. Copy the file to your home folder (`~/`). 3. Run the following command: `cp ~/cpdiag_dynamic_config.dat /opt/CPdiag/conf/` Manual Installation (Offline) {#Manual Installation} ---------------------------------------------------- ### Instructions: 1. Download the offline package to your computer. See the "Availability" section. 2. Copy the offline package from your computer to your Check Point Server to some directory (for example, */var/log/*). 3. Log in to the Expert mode on your Check Point Server. 4. Go to the directory with the offline package. 5. Install the offline package: * On a Security Gateway / each Cluster Member / Management Server / Log Server: `gtar -zxvf cpdiag_.tgz` `rpm --force -Uhv CPdiag-*.rpm` * On a Scalable Platform Security Group (Maestro / Chassis): `gtar -zxvf cpdiag_.tgz` `g_cp2blades CPdiag-*.rpm` `rpm --force -Uhv CPdiag-*.rpm` **Note** : The installation does not require **`cpstop; cpstart`** or a reboot.
