# sk184680 - Browser Extension Policy Fails to Update on Older macOS Versions

## Symptoms

- On macOS versions earlier than 26.1, the Endpoint browser extension policy does not update. Administrators may observe:   

* Policy changes do not apply to the macOS endpoint.
* Browser extension remains in an outdated policy state.
* Occurs on all Harmony Endpoint for Mac versions (E88.x and E89.x).

## Cause

macOS versions earlier than 26.1 contain a system?level behavior that prevents browser extension policy updates from being applied. The issue was reported to Apple as well.
