# sk184671 - "Cluster network interface is missing a valid IP address" error when fetching Cluster interfaces from SmartConsole

## Symptoms

- * "`The cluster network <Interface_Name> is missing a valid IP address for some of the members, please verify that all members have a valid IPv4/IPv6 address and netmask on that network.`" error when clicking "Get interfaces without the topology" in SmartConsole.

* SmartConsole displays the interface IP address as "None" for one of the cluster members.

* In the output of the "`ifconfig` command on the affected cluster member, the output does not show the interface as UP.

## Cause

The interface on the affected Security Gateway member is administratively down in Gaia.  
Because the operating system reports the interface state as DOWN, SmartConsole cannot retrieve IP information and displays "None".
