# sk184665 - REST API configuration changes fail for the 'cadmin' user in a Cloning Group

## Symptoms

- * When Cloning Group is enabled:   

  * REST API calls to create static routes for prefix advertisement through the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) fail with this error:

    "errors": "Command Execution Failed",`  
    `
    "message": "General Exception"`  
    `
    }`
  * REST API `show` commands work for the `cadmin` user, but `set` and `delete` commands do not work.
  * The admin user can perform all Gaia API commands successfully.
  * Creating static routes manually through the Gaia CLI works as expected

* When Cloning Group is disabled, creation of static routes through REST API works.

## Cause

The Gaia REST API feature does not support configuration changes when Cloning Group is enabled. The `cadmin` role inherits Cloning Group constraints and cannot modify configuration through API when Cloning Group is enabled.
