# sk184641 - PPTP/GRE traffic fails when Hide NAT is used and SecureXL runs in UPPAK mode

| Versions | R82.10, R82, R81.20 |

## Symptoms

- * PPTP connectivity fails when traffic passes through a Security Gateway that uses Hide NAT.

* The PPTP TCP control channel establishes, but the GRE data channel does not pass traffic.

* The behavior occurs when SecureXL is enabled in UPPAK mode.

## Cause

In some scenarios, when SecureXL operates in UPPAK mode, a PPTP/GRE enforcement?related setting is updated in the Firewall layer but is not applied in SecureXL.

Because SecureXL does not use the updated enforcement context, GRE data traffic is not processed correctly when Hide NAT is configured.
