# sk184618 - Traffic does not pass between ElasticXL clusters connected to the same VLAN

## Symptoms

- No traffic passes between ElasticXL clusters that are connected to the same Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).

## Cause

The ElasticXL clusters are using the same Virtual MAC (VMAC) address, which causes a MAC address conflict on the shared VLAN.

To confirm the issue, run these commands on the members of both clusters and compare the MAC addresses of the VLAN interfaces:

* `show interface <<interface_of_the_transfer_vlan>>`
* `ifconfig <<interface_of_the_transfer_vlan>>`

If the VMAC addresses are identical across clusters, a MAC conflict exists.
