## Symptoms

- * Upgrade of Identity Agent for Windows Endpoint Computer update to version R81.070.000 or higher fails with *Error 1722* or *Error Status:1603*.
* Users lose connectivity because the Identity Client is mandatory for users to access certain resources. In some environments, the Identity Client is mandatory for users to access the internet.
* After the failed upgrade, the Check Point tray icon does not appear in the Windows UI of the endpoint computer.

## Cause

This is **not** a Check Point issue. This is an issue related to the Windows certificate store on the endpoint computer.

The Windows endpoint computer does not trust one or more of the public Certificate Authority (CA) certificates used to countersign the Check Point Identity Agent installation package. Specifically, the required CA certificate(s) are either missing or located under 'Untrusted Certificates' in the Windows certificate store. As a result, Windows cannot validate the digital signature of the installer, causing the installation to fail.
