# sk184526 - The Security Gateway does not restore route redistribution rules after removing and re-adding the same static route

## Symptoms

- * When you delete a static route with the `"set static-route <destination> <mask> off"` command, or equivalent in Gaia WebUI, the system automatically removes any route redistribution rules referencing that static route.

* When you re-add the static route (even with a different next-hop), the system does not restore the redistribution rule automatically.

* Expected routes are not advertised via dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, BGP) until you manually re-add redistribution rules.

## Cause

Gaia removes redistribution rules referencing static routes that no longer exist to prevent redistribution of non-existent routes, which could cause routing inconsistencies.
