# sk184502 - Saving VSX configuration changes fails

## Symptoms

- * Saving VSX configuration changes fails with the "*Failed to extract FW1 policy details! Skipping state directory overwrite* " message.

* VSX configuration appears to apply successfully on individual Virtual Systems (VSs), but the overall operation completes with errors.
* Warning persists in Virtual System Properties even after clicking "OK" without making changes.
* Core dumps are generated for the FWM process on the Security Management Server.

## Cause

The error message "*Failed to extract FW1 policy details! Skipping state directory overwrite.* " occurs when the VSX utility cannot read or extract the details of the currently installed policy from the *$FWDIR/state/local/FW1/* directory.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
