# sk184470 - LDAP authentication fails with CA value in the LDAP Account Unit

## Symptoms

- * Remote Access VPN/Identity Awareness authentication with LDAP fails.

* Connectivity to the LDAP server on port 389 works properly.

* You entered values manually under LDAP Account Unit \> Server \> Encryption tab.

* PDPD and IKED logs in the *$FWDIR/log/* directory show "`parseDnCA`" errors, for example:  

  `
  "BDecLen: length exceeds buffer"`

## Cause

Incorrect CA or Server Name values under the Encryption tab cause LDAPS handshake failure.
