# sk184437 - Intermittent traffic drops and network instability after migration when concurrent connection limit is set manually

## Symptoms

- * Intermittent traffic drops during peak hours on various services

* CPview shows an increase in 'Capacity drops' at the same time the traffic drops occur

* In Maestro deployments, *$FWDIR/log/fwk.elg* logs show repeated errors:

  ```
  fwha_smo_record_internal_conn: failed to record Single Management Object (SMO) internal connection
  ```

* The 'Maximum limit for concurrent connections' is set to: **Manually**

## Cause

A static value is manually configured for the "Maximum limit for concurrent connections", and the configured limit was lower than the actual number of concurrent connections generated during peak usage.  

During high?traffic periods, the connection table reached the configured static limit. When the table was full, the Security Gateway began dropping new connections even though hardware utilization was low.  
Because the limit was not dynamically adjusted, short traffic bursts caused instability and intermittent packet drops.
